Naturopathic Medicine

Scope of Practice

In Washington State we are primary care physicians. We are able to perform all annual physical exams, request blood work, refer for more extensive testing (ie. mammogram, bone scan, x-ray, etc) and prescribe prescription medications (except controlled substances). We work hard to avoid prescription medications but are able to help you identify when a prescription medication may be the best option for you to continue with or start.

Naturopathic philosophy

“If I could live my life over again, I would devote it to proving that germs seek their natural habitat- diseased tissue-rather than being the cause of dead tissue. In other words, mosquitoes seek the stagnant water, but do not cause the pool to become stagnant.” -Dr. Rudolph Virchow, Father of Modern Pathology“The terrain is everything; the germ is nothing” –Claude Bernard, MD and physiologist

Hering’s Law: Constantine Hering (1800-1880)Healing Occurs:

  1. From deep to superficial
  2. From more important to less important organs and systems
  3. In reverse order of their occurrence
  4. From the top of the body towards the feet

Homotoxicological definition of illness

Diseases are the expression of biologically purposeful defense mechanisms against endogenous and exogenous homotoxins: the expression of the organism’s effort to compensate for toxic damage it has sustained.
